Gilbert De La Garza has been licensed to practice law since 2001, and in those years has represented numerous clients in a variety of matters. He is licensed to practice in all State courts, and is a member of the American Bar Association as well as several other bar associations affiliated with Family law, Criminal law and Personal Injury law. Prior to opening his own practice in 2001, Mr. De La Garza worked for 2 premier law firms in Corpus Christi, Texas and represented high profile plaintiffs with wrongful death claims and serious injuries vs. Ford and Firestone. Thereafter, he decided to open his own practice and focus primarily on Family law and Personal Injury issues. He soon became a premier family law practitioner in Corpus Christi, Texas where he represented hundreds of clients before moving to the Dallas area and opening up his own law practice there.
His primary practice now is handling a variety of divorce and family law cases, including child custody, child support, grandparent’s rights, enforcements of prior orders, Attorney General matters, and division of property among spouses. Through his 14 years of practice in this area, he has perfected his understanding of the Texas Family Code and all family law matters that people face in their everyday lives, including very complex family law matters dealing with interstate custody,
jurisdictional issues and military benefits during divorce. However, he also practices Personal Injury law and litigation, Criminal Defense matters and trials, and Probate law, including Wills and Estate issues, Business law and Contract law and disputes. Through his career, he has remained committed to protecting and advancing all clients' rights, claims and lawful objectives in a loyal, aggressive and efficient manner, and has always prided himself in his ability to consult with the client in a way that will make them comfortable with the legal process ahead of them, answering all questions and offering all alternatives to each individual based on their individual problems. He has extensive trial experience in these matters as well as the ability to mediate even the most complicated matters to a meaningful end.
When away from the office, Mr. De La Garza enjoys spending time with his wife, Monica, and two children, Briana and Gabriel, playing golf, and listening to live music. He is committed to helping the people in the North Dallas area as well as surrounding areas, and stands by willing to eagerly represent those who need his help.
